Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in York, Pennsylvania. This role involves maintaining the company's general ledger, assisting with the monthly and annual financial closing process, and participating in audits of financial records. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the maintenance of the company general ledger, chart of accounts, and all financial records

• Support the monthly and annual financial closing process

• Evaluate and apply internal controls to ensure accurate and efficient accounting systems and compliance with company and professional accounting practices

• Assist with Company financial reporting including the preparation of regular financial statements and specialized management reports

• Assist in developing policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure transactions are recorded properly

• Support the Accounts Payable process

• Assist with the Payroll process

• Assist with the projection and budgeting process

• Participate in audits of financial records with external auditors and initiate appropriate action as required

• Perform any other duties as assigned. Requirements • Proficiency in General Ledger management

• Demonstrated knowledge of Internal Control procedures

• Ability to prepare and analyze Financial Reports

• Familiarity with Financial Statement preparation and analysis

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and handle high-pressure situations

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local financial legal regulations

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred but not required

• Prior experience in a similar role is a plus.
