ITT Corporation Executive Director, Production & Site Leader in Valencia, California
ITT Aerospace Controls seeks a dynamic accomplished leader to direct the operations of our Valencia, California site. The Site Leader is responsible for managing the business unit/site with diversified product lines in a high mix low volume Focused Factory environment. The Site Leader will work with Executive Leadership Team to help sharpen strategic plans for the local site and drive execution for revenue, profitability and growth. This role is a peer to senior site sales and engineering leaders, and will collaborate to set appropriate expectations.
Champion manufacturing strategy, direction, and focus while providing site leadership for all functions of the business unit.
Develop and nurture an environment of teamwork, accountability and a sense of ownership.
Establish a strong culture of World-Class Manufacturing to reduce product cost and lead times, increase throughput and improve quality
Drive LEAN process improvements, including Six Sigma, to improve and streamline processes and reduce waste Interact with customers on design, quality, cost, and delivery issues
Accountable for the operational P&L and overall operational metrics including inventory, safety, quality, on-time delivery and production costs for the site
Accountability for accurately forecasting, measuring, and reporting plant performance
Champion formulation of annual operating and capital budgets
Coach and manage staff, both managers and individual contributors, including hiring and termination decisions, performance evaluations, etc.

Requires BS degree in Operations, Engineering, or relevant technical discipline.
Must have 10+ years progressively more responsible experience in an aerospace components or subsystems manufacturing environment with demonstrated ability to lead all aspects of a medium size aerospace business to include Manufacturing & Supply Chain Operations, Finance, Engineering, Sales & Marketing, etc.
Previous experience as a significant participant in a company’s strategic planning process and preparation of departmental budgets and operating plans
Demonstrated ability to develop, mentor, unify, and lead a plant business with diversified product lines Ability to work and lead in a matrixed environment
Strong working knowledge of Finance and Accounting due to P&L responsibility for this position
Strong skills in manufacturing management and orderly, disciplined safety and quality processes, with the emphasis being placed on timely delivery of quality products to customers
LEAN Manufacturing principles, employing Kaizen and the 6S methodology with demonstrated successful applications
Direct Focused Factory experience with strategies for optimal flow and throughput of short-run, highly customized product mix, and ability to develop strong FF / Plan management teams
Enthusiastic, proactive and positive leader who managed change with urgency and persistence
Effective teacher, mentor, coach, promoter and developer of individuals
MBA or advanced technical degree highly desirable
Black Belt and/or Lean certification a plus
