Job Description

Job Title: Accounts Receivable Manager

Overview: The Accounts Receivable Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial stability of the organization by overseeing the accounts receivable processes. This role involves managing a team responsible for invoicing, collections, and reconciliations, while also implementing strategies to improve cash flow and minimize bad debt.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

  • Lead and supervise the accounts receivable team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

  • Assign tasks and set targets to ensure efficient and timely completion of responsibilities.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to maximize team productivity.

Invoicing and Billing:

  • Oversee the invoicing process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

  • Review billing discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate with other departments, such as sales and finance, to streamline the invoicing process.

Collections:

  • Develop and implement collection strategies to minimize overdue accounts.

  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue invoices.

  • Negotiate payment terms and arrangements with delinquent customers while maintaining positive relationships.

Reconciliations and Reporting:

  • Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts receivable to ensure accuracy.

  • Prepare and analyze AR aging reports and other financial reports for management review.

  • Identify trends and areas for improvement to optimize the accounts receivable process.

Customer Relations:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for customer inquiries and escalations related to accounts receivable.

  • Address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers to facilitate timely payments.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously assess and improve accounts receivable processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Implement automation tools and technologies to streamline workflows and reduce manual efforts.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement in accounts receivable operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Proven experience 3 - 5 years in accounts receivable management or related financial leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly in revenue & accounts receivable.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

  • Leadership and team management skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant

  • Previous experience in process improvement initiatives or project management.
