Head of Postal Compliance and Operations

What does a successful Head of Postal Compliance and Operations do?

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer for Issuer Solutions, the Head of Postal Compliance and Operations will oversee presort compliance and operations within the Output Solutions business. This includes leadership for department operations and ensuring efficient mail processing while strictly adhering to all postal regulations, guidelines, and compliance standards. You will establish and maintain a culture of compliance while driving continuous improvement in our operations leveraging your expertise to contribute to the organization’s growth and success.

What you will do:

  • Stay up to date on all relevant postal regulations, guidelines, and compliance requirements providing guidance to leadership and staff accordingly.

  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure strict postal compliance. Conduct audits and inspections to verify adherence and coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal departments to address any compliance-related issues.

  • Develop quality assurance protocols and conduct regular checks and inspections to guarantee compliance with postal and organizational standards.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Develop metrics and performance indicators to measure presort operational effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Generate regular reports highlighting trends, areas for improvement, compliance status and billing audits.

  • Act as the subject matter expert on all related new business proposals, providing analysis to assist in winning new opportunities.

  • Lead and manage a team providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.

What you will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration or Operations Management or equivalent work and/or military experience.

  • 10+ years of either compliance or postal operations experience, equipped with extensive expertise in postal regulations, guidelines, and compliance standards.

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role with excellent leadership and team-building capabilities and a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.

What would be great to have:

  • Proven track record of successfully managing high-volume operations and delivering on large volumes.

  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, quality programs, and best practices.

  • Proven ability to effectively manage third-party contracts and vendor relationships, including contract negotiations.

  • Exhibit a proven ability to comprehend complex business and technical concepts and make informed and balanced judgments when faced with trade-offs.

  • Proven leadership skills and business acumen with the ability to influence others through collaborative efforts.

This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, Hawaii, New York or Washington.
