Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Solana Beach, California

Description

As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting the finance department and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions. From processing invoices and reconciling accounts to assisting with month-end close procedures, you'll be responsible for a variety of tasks that are essential to the smooth operation of the accounting function. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to gain valuable experience and grow professionally in the field of accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.

  • Match invoices with purchase orders and packing slips, verify accuracy, and process for payment.

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.

  • Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records and files, both electronic and physical.

  • Prepare and distribute financial reports and statements as required by management.

  • Assist with audit preparations and provide support to auditors during financial audits.

  • Perform data entry tasks and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information.

  • Provide general administrative support to the finance department as needed.

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as accounting standards and regulations.

    Requirements

  • Previous experience in accounting or finance role is a plus but not required.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and accounting software.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and eagerness to take on new challenges.

  • A passion for numbers and finance, with a desire to pursue a career in accounting.
