Full-time Producer/Director (PRN38447B) needed in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Job Summary

As part of PBS Utah's Production Department, the Producer is a digitally-experienced, creative storyteller responsible for producing, writing, shooting and editing content for PBS Utah's YouTube channels and other digital platforms. The Producer will create original digital content tailored to the needs and audience of each platform, contribute to our long-running YouTube gardening series, Modern Gardener, and help accelerate the quality and quantity of original digital content we produce. This role initiates, coordinates, and executes all aspects of the digital production process, including creative, technological and administrative.

Responsibilities 

  • Research, produce, write, shoot and edit original, digital content
  • Assist on a YouTube historical anthology series
  • Produce, research, write, shoot and edit digital content for Modern Gardener, PBS Utah's YouTube gardening series
  • Edits in a style compelling for digital audiences using Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
  • Creates and/or applies graphics, animation and music, adjusts color and audio for export and distribution
  • Manages and analyzes YouTube and metrics
  • Maintains a high awareness of digital content trends, platform technology and evolution
  • Identifies original story opportunities based on station strategy
  • Ensures creative, aesthetic and technical excellence in all content created
  • Maintain high journalistic standards and editorial integrity
  • Other duties as assigned

     

Minimum Qualifications  

Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), plus three years of directly related experience in instructional or commercial television required.

Preferences

- - Experience producing content for digital platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook - Strong editing skills on a fast turnaround timeline - Strong storytelling skills - Strong demo reel or links - Strong videography and lighting skills - Proficiency in platform-specific data analysis - High attention to detail - Ability to give and receive feedback in a collaborative environment - Ability to appear on-camera is advantageous - Ability to write and speak fluently in a second language is advantageous - Ability to build trust and understand various perspectives within their team and the communit y

 

*Pay Rate Range: *$52,000 to $55,000 commensurate with experience

 

Work Schedule Summary: M-F, 9-5, some evenings or weekends as needed
