HKS INC Sustainable Design Professional II in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Overview:

HKS is seeking a Sustainable Design Professional to join our team.

Supports project teams using a wide range of developing professional skills. Performs basic design and technical tasks requiring application of standard techniques and knowledge of sustainability while working under general supervision. Eager to learn, highly organized and willing to contribute creatively to the team.

Responsibilities: Project * Conducts whole building and component embodied carbon Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) using industry software such as Tally and One Click * Integral in influencing and delivering quality sustainable low energy design * Liaisons with stakeholders to develop and advance their sustainability strategies * Identifies sustainability risks and appropriate mitigation measures * Creates models to illustrate plans, processes and designs * Supports internal training for technical staff * Modifies or creates LEED or other rating system-specific documents, applying standard sustainable design techniques, collaborative design computations and procedures as assigned under direction * Performs routine assignments and may have some design responsibility collaborating with other team members as designated * Conducts research on local, regional and global project sustainability context, building materials, sustainable strategies and third-party rating systems (LEED, WELL, etc.) * Prepares draft reports with written and graphic content * Assists with enterprise level Environmental, Social and Governance work * Assists with the creation and maintenance of firm-wide content on the HKS intranet * Assists design teams in performance and energy analysis assignments * May attend on-site visits, field reviews and client and/or project meetings as appropriate * May assist in preparing proposals, presentations, schedules and processing of system-specific documentation and samples

Cultural * May participate in communication with other disciplines, vendors and contractors to incorporate information into project requirements * Participates in team meetings to discuss project issues, design and technical issues and coordination with other disciplines * Performs work in a manner that demonstrates an awareness of and an appreciation for the firm's cultural values, including a commitment to quality, innovation, learning and growth * Becomes skilled in fostering and maintaining a collaborative professional working...
