University of Utah Sr. Accountant, Accounting & Finance in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

The Sr. Accountant at Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) is an integral member of the HCI Finance team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Accounting & Finance, the position will serve as the finance liaison for assigned departments (labs, research groups, and others). In this capacity, the Sr. Accountant will play an important role in financial stewardship and oversight of the assigned departments throughout the fiscal year and the annual budgeting process. The Sr. Accountant will also serve as the primary departmental contact for requests from HCI Investigators to process non-personnel corrective journal entries and assist with accounting related questions.Other duties of the position will include closing purchase orders as requested, tracking Evidence of Review completion, preparing monthly Overspent Reports, serving as the primary departmental Scholarship Admin Coordinator, and managing activity setup and close requests as requested by Finance team members. The Sr. Accountant will be cross-trained and serve as a backup for other HCI Finance team members for duties such as non-personnel cost transfers, wire transfer payments, occasional payment request submissions in the ePR system, and maintenance of recruitment commitment tracking schedules.Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.Huntsman Cancer Institute is committed to cancer prevention, care, and survivorship for all communities within the area we serve which includes Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming with impact worldwide.
