Nutanix Staff Resident Consultant - AWS (7-16 years) in Pune, India

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Resident Consultant to deliver services to our strategic global customers. These services will be provided remotely from our Pune, India Office. Considering the client's business requirements, this role may require you to work in different time zones, including the night shift. Nutanix supports Hybrid work mode.

Nutanix Customer Success provides trusted resources that possess a wide range of industry experience to customers around the world. Nutanix Resident Consultants mainly focus on customer-specified outcomes and provide technical leadership, advice around standard methodologies, and an expert viewpoint on the customer's needs.

Your Role

As a Nutanix Resident Engineer, your primary responsibility is to manage and maintain Nutanix cloud infrastructure on the Amazon Web Services and Azure platform. This includes tasks such as provisioning Nutanix Cloud Clusters, configuring, and monitoring workload, managing storage solutions like S3, ensuring security and compliance standards are met, performing Nutanix cluster upgrades, and optimizing system performance. Additionally, you'll troubleshoot issues, automate routine tasks, and collaborate with other teams to support various projects and initiatives hosted on AWS and Azure.

As a scripting and automation expert, you're tasked with designing, developing, and maintaining scripts and automation solutions to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance productivity. Your responsibilities include analyzing workflow inefficiencies, identifying opportunities for automation, and creating robust scripts using languages like Python or PowerShell. Additionally, you'll collaborate with teams to integrate automation into existing systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure scalability and reliability of automation processes.

What You Will Bring

AWS Skills

  • AWS Services Proficiency: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with various AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudFormation, and others. They should be able to architect, deploy, and manage AWS environments efficiently.

  • Security Expertise: Understanding AWS security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption methods, network security, and compliance standards. Experience with AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) to manage user access and permissions.

  • Networking Skills: Proficiency in AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) configuration, subnetting, routing, and VPN connections. Experience with AWS Direct Connect and Route 53 for DNS management.

  • Automation: Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform for automating the provisioning and management of AWS resources.

  • Monitoring and Logging: Experience with AWS CloudWatch for monitoring AWS resources and setting up alarms. Knowledge of AWS CloudTrail for auditing and AWS Config for tracking resource changes.

  • Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues in AWS environments quickly. Experience with AWS Trusted Advisor and AWS Support for troubleshooting and optimizing AWS infrastructure.

  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Understanding of AWS backup and disaster recovery solutions, including AWS Backup, Amazon S3 versioning, and cross-region replication.

  • Performance Optimization: Knowledge of AWS best practices for optimizing performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of AWS resources. Experience with AWS Trusted Advisor and Cost Explorer for cost optimization.

  • Certifications: AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer are a plus and demonstrate expertise in AWS technologies.

Scripting Skills

  • Proficiency in Python: Strong understanding of Python programming language, including knowledge of syntax, data structures, object-oriented programming, and standard libraries

  • Experience with Deployment and DevOps: Knowledge of deployment processes and DevOps practices, including containerization with Docker, container orchestration with Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Database Skills: Knowledge of database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB, and experience with SQL or NoSQL databases for storing and retrieving data.

VMWare Skills

  • VMware Product Proficiency: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, including ESXi hypervisor, vCenter Server, vSAN, vMotion, DRS, and HA. Familiarity with other VMware products like vRealize Suite, NSX, and vCloud Director is a plus.

  • Networking Skills: Proficiency in networking concepts such as VLANs, subnets, routing, and firewalls. Experience with VMware NSX for network virtualization and micro-segmentation is beneficial.

  • Storage Management: Knowledge of storage technologies and protocols such as Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and SMB. Experience with storage management solutions like VMware vSAN, Storage vMotion, and Storage Policies.

  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Experience with VMware backup and replication solutions such as VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and Veeam Backup & Replication. Ability to implement and manage backup policies and disaster recovery plans.

  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Proficiency in VMware performance monitoring and optimization techniques. Experience with tools like vRealize Operations Manager (vROps) for performance analytics and capacity planning.

  • Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues in VMware environments quickly. Experience with VMware vSphere Web Client, logs analysis, and VMware support resources.

  • Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional and Terraform certified/CKA certified
