Summary The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center (AC) serves as the Army's technology leader for armament systems. DEVCOM AC ensures dominance of Army capabilities by researching, developing, integrating and delivering technology-enabled armament solutions to our Warfighters. Armaments Center has a long tradition as the primary research and development center for new and existing armament systems which are in use by U.S. service members around the world. Responsibilities Serves the organization as an expert analyst engaged in assessment and improvement of program effectiveness or the improvement of major complex management processes and systems. Participates in formal and informal meetings conferences, committees, and seminars with representatives of other functional areas, managers, and representatives of other/higher command, industry and academia. Solves day-to-day technical problems to assure timely and successful project completion. Incumbent translates complex technical and business requirements into procurement work statements and associated procurement documentation using skilled knowledge of regulatory guidance, management and acquisition methods and contracting strategy. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Experience with contracts, statement of works, procurement, and/or purchasing related activities 2) Proposing various contract methods for the acquisition of systems 3) Experience managing a contract across the acquisition life cycle. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE-02/GS-05-11).
