PositionSummary:

This role will be responsible for the cost base of all the product lines at the Orchard Park.This role will be heavily involved with the Operation’s team ensuring accurate and up to date inventory valuation. The person will require a good understanding of absorption costing techniques and have experience of working in a similar position within a Manufacturing environment. This position will be a key part of what is a growing business with a growing financial team that will allow for development within the group. The position will be heavily involved in the month end close process.

Primary Duties:

Responsible for normal month end close cost accounting duties to include but are not limited to :

  • Journal entries, variance analysis, reconciliations, calculating metrics, and ad hoc reporting.

  • Update and investigate standard costs as required.

  • Reconcile perpetual inventory to GL Ensure that inventory counts are taking place and are accurate; investigate in conjunction with Operation’s group any variances that appear.

  • Become fluent with Oracle, report writer utilities, and other company-specific software

  • Maintain work paper documentation that provides an effective audit trail and evidence of compliance with USGAAP and Sarbanes/Oxley.

  • Contribute to timely and accurate submission of monthly financial results and monthly reporting as required. Take proactive approach to problem solving, improvements, and lean processes within the organization.

  • Work with internal and external auditors when required.

  • Escalate issues of critical importance to management. ·

  • Other responsibilities include but are not limited to support of Company’s Operating Plan, Budget, and Monthly Forecast, and ad hoc reporting and financial analysis.

  • Plans study and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum BA/BS in Finance/Accounting/ Economics Minimum 2 years’ experience cost accounting or 4 years of general accounting or financial analysis experience.

  • Ability to organize workload and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated respect for culture of ethics and compliance .

  • Command of Excel, Access, and other Microsoft Office products.

  • Current experience with Oracle and Hyperion is preferred but not required.

  • Ability to self-start on various analytical projects, including research, investigation, modeling including presentation of findings to management and site leadership

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
