The Developmental Support Coordinator will oversee our life skills and social recreation programs at our Ontario Location

The DSC directs, oversees, and monitors developmental and rehabilitation programs for participants with disabilities. Serves as a leader training, supervising and mentoring mission based developmental service staff. Maintains effective working relationships with staff and other community support providers to ensure all participants are afforded the opportunity to reach their goals and maximum level of achievement.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinate daily activities that align with support goals, in the center and/or community settings.
  • Monitor progress towards goals, collect data on all services provided.
  • Ensure program development, implementation and monitoring occurs on an on-going basis for each participant in compliance with legal, accreditation, licensing, and regulatory entities.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other providers to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the services provided.
  • Ensure quality service is being provided throughout the program by planning, directing and supervising the daily activities of the programs.
  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with team members.
  • Oversee the management of programmatic environments, which include supervision of support staff.
  • Actively assist in program development and operations within the Adult Day Service Department
  • Interviews and effectively recommend hire, for Day Program staff.
  • Provide leadership and on-going supervision as well as annual evaluations to Day Program staff.
  • Ensure, provide, and oversee the scheduling of ongoing training, staff meetings and supervisory meetings.
  • Monitor that documentation and client files are maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements for programs.
  • Attends training programs as required.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety of work environment and maintains equipment and supplies.
  • Safety- Understand, encourage and take actions necessary to ensure a safe environment. Comply with safety policies and procedures; complete all required training; takepersonal responsibility for safety.
  • Assumes responsibility for other duties as required or assigned by Manager of Oregon Operations

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in special education, early childhood special education, speech and language pathology, applied behavioral analysis, psychology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work or therapeutic recreation or bachelors degree and successful completion of designated competency examination.
  • Experience in the development of person-centered plan and programs
  • Training in behavior management a plus
  • Certified Habilitative Interventionist a plus
  • Certified Nurse Assistant (CAN) a plus
  • Certified in First Aid and CPR a plus
  • Certified in medication administration a plus
  • Computer Skills - Working knowledge of MS Office programs
  • Academic Workingknowledge of business mathematics and English
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus

Physical Requirements:

Essential Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Work in program sites and the community routinely providing direct care and support with client(s). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions which include:

  • Able to move and stay with a client to keep him/her safe, both in home environment and community, even when client may be difficult or uncooperati e, both at near and far distances.

  • Able to assist a client who has fallen, regardless of weight or size.
  • Walk, climb stairs by self, or to provide direct care ensuring clients safety, or to complete household and community tasks.
  • Perform household tasks or tasks within the community such as laundry, cleaning, completing meal routines, shopping or dining out and, at the same time, ensuring clients safety and proper direct care and compliance with regulatory entities and program plans.
