Details a bout this opportunity :

  • Full Time center based Occupational Therapist (COTA's welcome to apply)

  • Must be available during school hours ( 9:00 am- 3 :00pm) full calendar year

  • Must be interested in working with school-age students (ages 5-21) with autism and other developmental disabilities

  • Compensation: $75,000

  • Please note this is an average. Rates are determined by services provided, professional experience, and license/certifications held.

  • New Hyde Park and Farmingdale, NY (must be willing to travel between sites as needed)

    Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement creative individual and/or group therapeutic interventions for your caseload.

  • Administer and write up occupational therapy evaluations.

  • Ongoing communication and collaboration with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) and Special Educators specifically related to overall fine motor, visual motor, and sensory need s.

  • Ongoing communication with lead supervisors & coordinators, specifically related to case management.

  • Utilize students’ behavior management strategies and behavior intervention plans during sessions.

  • Maintain professionalism with families, school districts , and other professionals.

  • Maintain accurate and timely attendance and billing logs.

  • Create and maintain schedule

  • Collects dat a on each IFSP/IEP goal and reports on progress quarterly.

  • Provide input and attend/teleconference initial CPSE/CSE meetings and/or annual reviews.

      And this background:

  • Graduate from an accredited university with a degree in Occupational Therapy

  • Current New York State Occupational Therapy License or NYS Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant License

  • Minimum of (1) year experience working in a setting focusing on supporting children and their families.

  • Experience working with students with autism preferred.

  • Bilingual is a plus.
