Details a bout this opportunity :
Full Time center based Occupational Therapist (COTA's welcome to apply)
Must be available during school hours ( 9:00 am- 3 :00pm) full calendar year
Must be interested in working with school-age students (ages 5-21) with autism and other developmental disabilities
Compensation: $75,000
Please note this is an average. Rates are determined by services provided, professional experience, and license/certifications held.
New Hyde Park and Farmingdale, NY (must be willing to travel between sites as needed)

Responsibilities:
Design and implement creative individual and/or group therapeutic interventions for your caseload.
Administer and write up occupational therapy evaluations.
Ongoing communication and collaboration with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) and Special Educators specifically related to overall fine motor, visual motor, and sensory need s.
Ongoing communication with lead supervisors & coordinators, specifically related to case management.
Utilize students’ behavior management strategies and behavior intervention plans during sessions.
Maintain professionalism with families, school districts , and other professionals.
Maintain accurate and timely attendance and billing logs.
Create and maintain schedule
Collects dat a on each IFSP/IEP goal and reports on progress quarterly.
Provide input and attend/teleconference initial CPSE/CSE meetings and/or annual reviews.

And this background:
Graduate from an accredited university with a degree in Occupational Therapy
Current New York State Occupational Therapy License or NYS Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant License
Minimum of (1) year experience working in a setting focusing on supporting children and their families.
Experience working with students with autism preferred.
Bilingual is a plus.
