Where the chemistry happens…

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Regional Field Technical Representative to join our team. In collaboration with the RTP Seed Treatment Technology Team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of seed treatment product field testing, from the early pipeline stages to demonstration, within your designated local region. This includes managing both internal BASF activities and coordinating with third-party cooperators. Additionally, you will play a key role in providing technical training to BASF internal staff and customers, as well as ensuring adherence to local technical product stewardship guidelines. In this role, you will also be responsible for fostering relationships with local seed treatment influencers, such as Universities, and providing technical support to the local sales team, including training and managing customer complaints.

As a Regional Field Technical Representative - Pacific Northwest to Northern Plains, You Create Chemistry By...

• Supporting seed treatment product sales by Generating, summarizing, and presenting product performance data for BASF internal needs and customers. Leading local seed treatment technical activities including product positioning and recommendations.

• Technical training and market observations. Leading product trainings for local internal staff and customers. Providing regular updates to the RTP seed treatment team regarding local activities, product performance topics and customer needs. Collaborating with Marketing Team to generate sales literature.

• Managing field testing and demonstration activities. Finalize design, implementation, and submission of all technical field activities.

• Managing technical influencer and customer activities: Responsible for local interface with University Extension Services, local recommendations, and local influencer relationships. Placing field research and demonstration trials/sites and managing data collection and reporting and budget.

• Supporting for product performance troubleshooting and complaints: Upon request from local sales personnel, follow guidelines to investigating and providing technical expertise to ensure appropriate customer service.

If you...

• Possess a PhD or MSc in a biological or agricultural science such as agronomy, entomology, plant pathology, nematology, plant physiology or similar.

• Have a MSc: Minimum 6 years of experience or have a PhD: Minimum 4 years of experience.

• Have experience in an agricultural field technical role is preferred.

• Are familiar with the technical knowledge of local and regional US seed treatment market, crops and pests, sufficient to guide research activities, train BASF internal team and customers, and provide technical sales support.

• Technical training and working knowledge (minimum 2) of agronomy, entomology, plant pathology, nematology, plant physiology, etc.

• Possess strong communication skills and ability to influence and work well with others, in order to confidently provide a strong technical image for BASF seed treatments.

• Have strong computer skills to manage seed treatment trial data, prepare summaries including promotional materials and training literature, and ability to communicate them in an effective manner. Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office software and field trial management software (ARM).

• Experience with aerial imagery technology is preferred.

Pay Transparency

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $108,160 - $148,700. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
