CROSSMARK is a leading sales and marketing services company and are currently recruiting for a Sr. Category Analyst.
This role will serve as the Canadian category expert and be responsible for developing insight driven customer and category selling stories. Generate data-driven insights and lead client’s thinking on how to action/profit from those insights. This role is intended to be deeply involved in the sales planning process.
Responsibilities
Serve as the category expert for the customer & sales team by providing actionable category insights and a POV on how to drive category growth and retailer category market share growth
Leverage syndicated data from various sources and category trends to partner with Sales in the development of line reviews
Enhance business operations through development of consultative insights and presentations directed towards generating increased sales
Deliver category 101 presentations to customer and/or sales teams to establish our POV on the category, growth projections and drivers of growth
Customize national category selling stories to make relevant retailer-specific opportunities
Participate in weekly/monthly discussions with local sales team focused on category performance, volume drivers (decomps)
Develop impactful category analyses and consumer insights using a range of syndicated and non-syndicated data sources
Synthesize learnings from various sources (shopper data, scan data, custom research) to create clear and impactful selling stories in a visually appealing manner using PowerPoint
Manage the use and application of syndicated and non-syndicated data resources
Understand CROSSMARK capabilities/processes and recommend insights-based actions that generate incremental revenue for CROSSMARK
Develop and share best practices
Support business operations to the sales effort through interaction and consultation with sales executives and other business partners

Education/Experience:
College/University degree or equivalent work experience required.
Three (3) or more years of experience required, CPG experience preferred
Computer Skills:
Advanced knowledge and use of MS Office (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
Working knowledge of syndicated data analysis tools (Retail Link, Circana, etc.)
Work environment:
Hybrid work setting
