JOB REQUIREMENTS: CLASS SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks. Responsibilities may include preparing reconciliations, monitoring and analyzing financial transactions, preparing journal entries, and preparing reports as directed. TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.) 1. Reconciles tenants, rental subsidy and security deposit accounts with general ledger accounts 2. Reviews/Analyzes rental charges and payments and make adjustments to the ledgers when necessary 3. Performs and/assist rent collection posting when necessary 4. Reviews tenants move-in, move out and transfer transactions and make corrections when necessary 5. Assists property managers in responding to tenant inquiries on their accounts or financial disputes 6. Assists property managers in coordinating with Section 8 on areas related to rental subsidy payments 7. Monitors A/R Aging Reports (including cell tower rentals) 8. Assists in reconciling bank accounts 9. Assists and resolve issues related to property set and functioning 10. Evaluates Sec 202 property recertification\'s for financial accuracy and subsidy request 11. Monitors HUD and WHEDA dues for prompt payments and posting 12. Assists/Provides trainings to property managers/staff on areas affecting tenant accounting 13. Prepares and enters journal entries in the system 14. Performs internal audit and assists in the year end audit 15. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require): Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting or related field; 1-3 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
