Nammo Defense Systems, Inc Supplier Quality Analyst in Mesa, Arizona

Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium & large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.

Position Summary:

The Supplier Quality Specialist participates and/or supports internal and external supplier quality management and control activities. These include supporting the Receiving Inspection area, through the preparation of inspection work instructions and resolution of supplier parts/documentation non-conformities, review supplier FAI data for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to design data and support Strategic Supplier Quality Engineers in the review of the Supplier Data Package, and resolution of any discrepancies, documents reports, and tracks the closure of supplier corrective actions, coordinates and publishes periodic supplier evaluations and provides respective feedback, maintains the Supplier Quality Systems certification status, analyzes and timely reports supplier performance data, prepares and maintains the suppliers audits schedule, supports, and conducts supplier audits as needed in collaboration with the Strategic Supplier Quality Engineers, and improve the Nammo Quality Management System. Additionally, the Supplier Quality Specialist, works closely with Program Quality Engineering, in activities that include the review of Supplier documents such as AIEs (Acceptance Inspection Equipment Reports), Supplier Control Plans, Material Summary Sheets, among others.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work with engineering and supply chain on the selection and qualification of suppliers

• Review supplier FAI data for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to design data

• Conduct when required onsite or remote Source Inspections

• Develop and implement Receiving Inspection Quality Plans, (L.I.R, Lot Inspection Reports), in collaboration with Engineering and Manufacturing.

• Supports Strategic Supplier Quality Engineering in preparation of plans to minimize inspections

• Coordinate and prepare information for the periodic supplier evaluations

• Establish and conduct supplier audits/assessments (on-site or remote)

• Participates in the preliminary Material Review Board and disposition of discrepancy reports in accordance with the decision provided by the Integrated Product Team.

• Coordinates in conjunction with Quality Engineering any containment actions for supplier quality escapes.

• Perform on site reviews of FAI (First Article Inspection), or Source Inspection when required

• Communicate with vendors regularly to address any concerns and foster an environment that facilitates continual improvement in working relationships

• Tracks supplier corrective actions

• Maintains the Supplier Quality Systems certification status

• Work with Program Quality Engineering, in activities that include the review of supplier documents such as AIEs (Acceptance Inspection Equipment Reports), Supplier Control Plans, Material Summary Sheets, among others.

• Support the business plan and drive supplier quality performance metrics (i.e., PPM, escapes/rejects, responsiveness, among others).

• Improves the QMS documentation for supplier quality management.

• Summarize supplier performance metrics and publish periodic reports to management

Required Experience & Skills:

• Familiarity/Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Parts Approval Process, (PPAP), and process tools such as PFMEA and Control Plans.

• Practical experience with Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma Green / Black Belt certification from a recognized organization

• Good understanding of factory, manufacturing process control, and quality systems

• Proficient experience in Product Production Line Validation

• 8D problem solving methodology and other corrective action methodologies

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify gaps and manage resolution of issues with the support of technical teams.

• Interpersonal skills required to handle difficult situations as well as to diffuse interpersonal conflict effectively.

• Ability to self-manage with a track record of coming through on commitments.

• Ability to prioritize and coordinate own tasks with focus on achieving objectives

• Self-motivated, good communicator and ability to lead

• Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

• Travel of minimum 10%

Education:

• 10 years or more of relevant experience in quality, manufacturing or project engineering

• AS9100D internal Quality Auditor experience

• Experience with Lean Six Sigma Tools, (Green belt or Black belt preferred).

• Proficient in data analysis and reporting

• Ability to obtain ATF approval to work with NDS products
