Position Description:

The IT Support Specialist II’s scope includes providing technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with the use of software applications, customized applications, and websites, etc.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Oversee all technical support calls.

  • Assist with all future technical projects, hardware and software upgrades for the department.

  • Oversee inventory and tracking for department.

  • Assist with AV/IT duties during various departmental and system meetings.

  • Oversee all Security, OS, and driver patches and updates for department.

  • Manage and deploy the departmental OS Image during yearly departmental hardware refreshes.

  • Monitor and participate in relevant listservs, training opportunities, user groups, publications and professional groups to maintain a strong knowledge of developments in the fields of advancement, reporting and database management.

Intermediate level analytical skills, including process description, logic, problem diagnostics, and problem solving. Technical background with Microsoft and Apple operating systems. Experience troubleshooting Microsoft and Adobe software. Experience supporting networked printing and scanning solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Microsoft Imaging and Deployment solution.

  • Experience managing security and access rights of users through Microsoft Active Directory.

  • Experience scripting with MicrosoftPowerShell.

  • Microsoft or CompTIA entry level certifications. Dell Support Technician Certification.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus one (1) year related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience. Applicants for this Security Sensitive Level II position will be subject to a criminal background check and must pass a drug and alcohol test after a conditional offer of employment has been extended, but before employment can be confirmed.
