Company: Scientific Design LLCLocation:Little Ferry, NJPosition Title:Sr. Engineer, Process (Req# 1022)Job Description:Responsible for all aspects of process engineering in support of sales and execution efforts for Scientific Design’s process technology offerings. Develop and carry out process simulations for Scientific Design technologies. Perform technical and economic evaluation of process flowsheet alternatives to support development of optimized process schemes. Perform design of process equipment and prepare equipment datasheets: tower ratings, vessel sizing, pump rundown calculations, and heat exchanger ratings. Develop Process Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams. Prepare material and utility balances. Develop instrument specifications. Provide process support throughout basic and detailed engineering phases of a project, including HAZOP, 3D Model Review, engineering support for commissioning and startup. Domestic or national travel required up to 10% for client meetings.Job Requirements:Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Chemical Engineering or a directly related field plus six (6) years of process engineering experience.Five (5) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):-Leveraging knowledge of chemical process design fundamentals; -Developing innovative engineering solutions with a focus on practical implementation; -Designing process equipment and preparing equipment datasheets: tower ratings, vessel sizing, and pump rundown calculations;-Developing Process Flow Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams;-Developing instrument specifications.Three (3) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):-Process simulation; -Preparing material and utility balances; -Providing process support throughout basic and detailed engineering phases of a project: HAZOP, 3D Model Review, and engineering support for commissioning and startup.40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm, To apply: Send resumes to HR@scidesign.com.
