FECON Mechanical Assembler in Lebanon, Ohio

Position: Mechanical Assembler

Status: Full-Time; Non-Exempt

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling our segment of Assembly and Engine powered products.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.

  • Reads and deciphers schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.

  • Positions or aligns components and parts, either manually or with hoists.

  • Uses hand tools or machines to assemble parts.

  • Conducts quality control checks.

  • Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools.

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.

  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.

  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.

  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.

  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.

  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.

  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Maintains inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels, placing and tracking orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.

  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.

  • Operates a forklift as needed.

  • Works off a schedule and records assembly data.

  • Recognizes and maintains a standard of quality.

  • Utilizes 5S concepts in the workplace. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Mechanical ability is required.

  • Must be quality and safety driven in compliance with work procedures and safety rules.

  • Must be able to work overtime when needed.

  • Ability to understand methods sheets and documented work instructions.

  • Flexible and willing to perform various tasks.

  • Has a willingness to learn.

  • Ability to work as a team where safety and quality come first.

Education and Experience:

  • H.S graduate or equivalent GED – Tech school training a plus.

  • Must have experience with mechanical assemblies.

  • Experience with hydraulic components and systems is preferred.

  • Hydraulic installation experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely lift 60 pounds.

  • Most work performed standing at floor level.
