Position Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Functional Analyst Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. The primary focus of this role will be to identify, implement, maintain, and audit business processes for a large software development organization. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in business process analysis, requirements gathering, and process improvement methodologies. The Functional Analyst SME will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand current processes, identify areas for improvement, and propose and implement solutions that enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and overall business performance.

This position is located in our Lebanon, VA or Lafayette, LA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

U.S. Citizenship is required.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Review and understand current development team processes and procedures.

  • Investigate, conduct interviews, and perform analysis related to current business processes as needed.

  • Participate in business process modeling sessions, acting as a documentarian, co-facilitator, facilitator or subject matter expert in sketch sessions.

  • Work with development teams directly to help ensure all members understand existing processes and procedures.

  • Define, implement and maintain business processes and procedures to meet business objectives.

  • Audit team artifacts to ensure compliance with required processes and procedures.

  • Educate business users responsible for managing and operating existing business processes.

  • Work with stakeholders to identify business requirements, processes, and risk.

  • Facilitating process workshops that involve eliciting process requirements and liaising with users.

  • Analyze current process standards and metrics in order to provide recommended solutions for improvements

  • Research industry best practices and apply them to this organization as needed.

  • Use best practices to carry out business process analysis, re-engineering, process measurements and change management activities.

  • Perform data gathering, root cause analysis and performance trending in order to develop appropriate process control changes.

  • Prepare communication plans regarding process re-engineering for multiple stakeholders.

  • Inform respective teams on process improvement and re-engineering strategies.

  • Monitor, measure and provide feedback on process performance.

  • Update and maintain documentation on process improvements and process performance.

  • Develop process training materials as needed.

  • Support development teams on special projects as needed.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelors degree in business management (or related area) and 3 to 5 years of experience.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Proficient in written and verbal communication.

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

  • Knowledge in business process and solution design.

  • Ability to identify areas for process improvement and/or increased efficiency.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of various software development lifecycles (Waterfall, Agile, SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile Framework, etc.).

  • Good organization and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to manage work with limited direction.

  • Ability to set project timelines and lay out plan of actions within timelines.

  • Motivated to take initiative and ownership of assigned tasks.

  • Tech savvy with ability to articulate thorough responses to end users.

  • Ability to self-learn (e.g., lead and drive your own learning experience).

  • Ability to easily build new relationships and proactively establish a variety of contacts across the organization.

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:

  • Understanding of Atlassian tools: Jira and Confluence

  • Proficient in Microsoft tools: M365 (including SharePoint Online) and Azure DevOps (including Azure Boards)

  • Proven ability to balance concurrent activities

  • Related certifications (e.g., agile, process identification, process improvement, change management, etc.)

  • Good presentation skills

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $50,000.00 - $118,700.00.
