JPMorgan Chase Vice President Experience Design in Jersey City, New Jersey

Job responsibilities

• Develop and execute design/research strategies for complex projects and ensure alignment with business objectives and user needs across multiple product areas

• Diagram service flows and product features, design wireframes, and prototype interactions for key touchpoints as you lead end-to-end design initiatives within a specific domain.

• Drive the adoption of inclusive design practices and accessibility guidelines, mentor junior designers and foster a culture of diversity and inclusion

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate user experience design into the product development processes and ensure seamless and customer-centric solutions

• Analyze market trends, gather feedback from user research, and learn from data insights to inform design decisions and optimize user experiences across various platforms and channels

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in user experience design or similar roles

• Demonstrated ability to create visual representations of user journeys, such as storyboarding, wireframes, and prototypes

• Demonstrated experience in inclusive design and accessibility guidelines, with the ability to incorporate diverse perspectives and abilities into design solutions

• Proven ability to develop experiences that meet or exceed the initial proposal of a product or experience, including the development of transformational innovation strategies and the creation of 'north star' representations to drive customer-centric decision-making

• Advanced technical literacy, including an advanced understanding of client-side technologies, APIs, microservices, and the components of the technology stack, as well as their impact on user experience

• Effectively and rapidly translate user requirements into compelling experiences that grow the business area and create value for clients, which can be tested and iterated upon alongside product and technical stakeholders to satisfy specific objectives and measurable outcomes in service of both enhancing usability and achieving business goals.

• Outstanding, seasoned storytelling and presentation skills, accountable for being able to recommend, present and defend credible design strategies, methodologies and solutions to senior leadership and articulate how discovery helped to inform both requirements and design decisions using data, design thinking, and UX best practices

• Expert in employing diverse communication and design tools and have the craft skills to leverage a design system with the aim of delivering exceptional high-fidelity usable and visually aesthetic solutions. Must be able to break down long term vision into near incremental deliverables and adapt both timelines and approaches as the situation dictates

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

• Advocate for Accessibility Guidelines and Inclusive Design practices

• Comfortable with structuring and planning design work in cross-functional contexts

• Able to show how their understanding of technical constraints and opportunities informed design solutions; Familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, frameworks such as React, and mobile UI standards

• Experience working on technical products or complex systems

• Demonstrated ability in building and maintaining relationships across disciplines, with a proven track record as a craftperson and the ability to teach others

• Self-initiating, with experience influencing teams through strategic thinking and communication, while navigating complex discussions with professionalism and tact

• Ability to proactively manage a book of work, developing a perspective on your specific product area, successfully advocating for it across the organization while solving challenges and recommending opportunities to improve the product
