Siemens Energy Maritime & Offshore New Unit Sales Manager in Houston, Texas

A Snapshot of Your Day

As an expert in sales leadership, you will join our dynamic team in the field of maritime and offshore sustainable energy and electrification. With a broad understanding of and deep client relationships in the marine industry, your focus will be on proactively growing opportunities and communicating the benefits of our products, systems, and services to clients. Candidate will work in a matrixed sales structure coordinating with country heads and technical sales teammates across the Americas.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to promote and sell products, systems, and services related to the marine and offshore decarbonization.

  • Marine and/or Offshore background required, fluent in electrical equipment and solutions, such as power generation and distribution, control and automation, and electrical propulsion systems.

  • Identify and target potential clients in various maritime industries including ship builders, naval architects, as well as owner/operators, for ferries, research vessels, supply and support vessels and military vessels as well as offshore vessels and installations.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, acting as a trusted advisor, and providing expert guidance on marine and offshore decarbonization.

  • Conduct in-depth consultations with clients to understand their specific needs and challenges and develop customized proposals and solutions to meet their requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, bid and proposals, product development, and project management, to ensure seamless delivery of solutions and meet client expectations.

  • Leads sales teams to win key opportunities, develop sales strategies, technical solutions, and proposals for large Must Win opportunities.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to marine and offshore decarbonization and incorporate this knowledge into sales strategies and client interactions.

  • Able to present at conferences and participate in writing white papers on relevant industry topics.

  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, reports, and presentations for management, highlighting sales performance, market trends, and a keen focus on growth opportunities.

  • Able to gain key stakeholder engagement and collaboration across a complex global matrixed organization.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required. Marine and/or System BS, EE or ME, Marine Engineering and or Vessel Design (Naval Architect)

  • Proven track record of at least 10 years in marine sales. Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.

  • Previous marine industry, shipyard or US Navy experience, FPSO experience is preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of marine and offshore decarbonization strategies, electrification, and engineering.

  • A strong people leader who can cultivate and develop employees across cultures, languages, and seniority.

  • Strong understanding of the sales process, including lead generation, prospecting, relationship building, and closing deals.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and negotiate with clients at all levels.

  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.

  • Extensive customer facing experience.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
