The ideal candidate will be highly organized and able to ensure that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process as production is a fast-paced environment. The role requires the ability to monitor production output and organize workflows. Driven by customer use-cases, the Production Scheduler will develop/enhance verification methods, best practices, and production test standards for ITW Food Group Equipment products. This person must have strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills. The Production Scheduler position is responsible for a variety of operations connected with the movement, tracking and logging of material and part including the coordination of customer expedites, communication with Customer Service/Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing on key planning issues, coordination of engineering change notices (ECN) and new product launches, preparation of various manufacturing reports and assist in the management of daily shipping flow. A successful Production Scheduler is a strong leader, a good problem-solver, and self-motivated.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate effectively.

  • Analyze internal and external customer requirements and schedule appropriate production to achieve expectations working with Production Supervisors, Team Leads, and operators. Allocate resources to ensure minimum downtime and completion of scheduled activities. Prioritize and manage workload to ensure assignments address the objectives of the plant, company, and customers.

  • Complete root cause analyses as it relates to scheduling and shipping issues.

  • Intake and maintain file of work orders for record keeping and safety compliance. This includes promoting a safety culture and work environment in accordance with company policies and OSHA regulations.

  • Develop capacity plans for production and pick/pack/ship.

  • Responsible for cycle counting, receipt, identification, storage, disbursement, and inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment.

  • Monitors material inventories and maintains organization of inventory including accurate electronic inventory records and transactions. Assist in reconciling inventory errors & shortages. Monitor finished goods inventory accuracy and audit production order reporting. Coordinate ECN changes and new product launches.

  • Identifies process improvements in assigned work areas.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with limited resources and a sense of urgency. Effectively prioritizes and completes production scheduling activities – enter production orders, scheduling, capacity planning, inventory control, on-time delivery, and customer service/sales/engineering interface.

  • Must have a strong understanding and utilization of ERP system, Microsoft Office, and reporting systems.

  • Develops and drives longer term initiatives and projects for continuous and step function improvement in key performance metrics related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and profitability.

  • Use lean manufacturing techniques coupled with data driven decision making to exceed customer on-time delivery standards.

  • Work well with colleagues and produce results within a fast paced and high-pressure atmosphere. Combine strong attention to detail with an orientation towards results/execution.

  • Other responsibilities or special projects not specifically listed above may also be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of responsibility.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 2 years’ experience in production planning and control or equivalent education/experience required.

Desired Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years’ experience in production planning and control strongly preferred.

Certificates and Licenses

  • Forklift License is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Required to attend work when scheduled. Attendance is an essential function and working overtime as scheduled to meet customer expectations.

  • May be required to lift up to 35 pounds. Any item over 35 pounds, is to be done with assistance.

  • May be required to push and pull up to 100 pounds.

  • Fine manipulation is needed for PC work and use of other office equipment.

  • Visual requirements include ability to read and follow directions.

  • Ability to wear designated personal protective equipment for the work assignment where needed (i.e. safety glasses, protective gloves, hearing protection, cut resistant sleeves).

  • Total awareness of the plant environment as it pertains to the safety of other employees, operation of equipment, handling of equipment/materials, and visitors required.

  • Periods of working in manufacturing environment

  • Working temperatures vary with seasonal changes where climate control is limited. The environment is one in which noise exists.

  • Perform activities including bending, stooping, standing, walking

  • Stand and walk from two (2) to four (4) hours per day

  • Climb up and down stairs four (4) to six (6) times per day

  • Operate common office equipment, i.e. PC, phone, copier, printer, fax

Hours of Work

  • 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
