Inside Sales Representative– AMTS, Steel, and Foundry

Allied Mineral Products, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. We are currently seeking an Inside Sales Representative– AMTS, Steel, and Foundry. The role of this position is to provide support to Allied Mineral Technical Services (AMTS) and give additional assistance to the Steel and Domestic Foundry business units. The duties require strong language, writing, and math skills supported by proven competency in basic accounting, personal computer use and knowledge of business processes. Effective strategies for this role are independent problem solving and investigative acumen, willingness to help colleagues, extreme attention to detail, and the ability to handle a fluctuating workload. This position will work under the direction of the Manager Customer Relations.

Key Duties:

  • Assist in proposal development including document management, editing, and collection of background information, such as travel needs, freight rates, and tax and tariff considerations.

  • Coordinate (monitor and communicate) project dates, such as proposal deadlines, order deliverables, and installment invoices. Incorporate relevant dates and tasks into project management plans as needed.

  • Set up projects for invoicing within SAP with WBS Elements and work with Accounting and the Sales Representative to properly and timely invoice projects. Work with the Accounting Tax group to ensure proper tax waivers, etc. are applied for in a timely manner. .

  • Issue labor and other outside vendor purchase orders for projects and relay to the appropriate Business VP and Sales Rep. Upload information into C4C for reference.

  • CR to communicate material to be shipped to Subcontracting Accounts. Inside Sales Rep will issue and receive all PO’s in regards to subcontracting material.

  • Secure required approvals, signatures and seals required for contracts and invoices.

  • Work with the Sales Rep and Steel VP to review Accounts Receivable reports and collect outstanding payments (AMTS and Steel).

  • Coordinate subscriptions, password management, and use of all web-based customer and vendor portals. (Includes eMarket, TabSource and international SAP based systems.)

  • Collect required information on new AMTS vendors and customers to ensure proper creation in existing systems.

  • Maintain AMTS and Allied product pricing in customers’ systems (including on-line system).

  • Maintain pricing in internal special pricing system for AMTS and Allied customers.

  • Assist with analysis of customer pricing and sales to support price changes and account management strategies.

  • Participate in expediting select orders for AMTS, Steel and Foundry groups.

  • Receive and process AMTS purchase orders. Trouble shoot any issues (delivery times, availability, change orders, rush status, etc.)

  • Request quotes from select vendors and communicate details with sales.

  • Create and issue AMTS purchase orders. Review, track, and request additional documentation accordingly.

  • Work with Accounting to review invoices from vendors, cross-check with issued PO. Dispute, if needed, or approve with accurate reference information.

  • Conduct research required for business plans, internal presentations, customer presentations, strategic planning and other needs.

  • Facilitate use of Allied’s existing information exchange systems by submitting and tracking internal requests. (Request for Engineering Services, Precast Shape Request, Product Services Request and R&D Requests).

  • Prompt processing of information and its continued flow is essential. A critical aspect of this position is communication.

  • Serve as a liaison between Allied internal departments and colleagues outside the office. Effectively communicating requirements and results between involved parties is essential.

  • Participate in technical training within the company and through external sources to expand knowledge base.

  • Work non-traditional hours during certain projects as needed, indicated by project schedules, deadlines, and time zones.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Business or Technical field, or equivalent work experience is preferred.

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of related work experience is required.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • A strong drive to find answers through investigative means, including, but not limited to, self-study, data collection, and resourcefulness.

  • A desire to continually learn new things across diverse topics and the ability to identify commonalities among them is critical.

  • Must be highly proficient with all MS Office applications and SAP S4 Hana / C4C systems

  • Requires strong attention to detail.
