Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Facilities and Facilities Supervisor, assists in general maintenance and

locksmith functions of the hospital.

  1. Completes assigned work orders and/or PMs in a timely manner or informs supervisor of any problems accomplishing a task.

  2. Immediately identifies and informs supervisor of any malfunctioning equipment.

  3. Achieves to reduce maintenance and utility costs through improved operational procedures.

  4. Helps to maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.

  5. Maintains a professional attitude toward patients, visitors and staff at all times.

  6. Varies work schedule or shift to meet the department staffing needs.

  7. Works overtime only with approval or when requested by Supervisor.

  8. Schedules all vacation and personal holidays with prior supervisory approval.

  9. Performs other duties as required by Supervisor.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Trade school helpful

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be able to perform minor electrical, HVAC, mechanical repairs.

  • Must be able to read blue prints.

  • Must have some minor computer skills (work order systems).

  • Must have good communication skills.

  • Must have general knowledge or willing to learn equipment associated with the support of a hospital. Equipment included but not limited to: vacuum pumps, medical air compressors, chillers and emergency power.

  • Must be able to perform task without supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have at least 3 years commercial or industrial locksmith experience.

  • Have at least 1 year of practical experience in an accredited hospital Facilities department.

Pay Range

$18.74 - $25.77 /hour
