Ministry Support (Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries) Accountant in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania

Category/Shift/Hours per 2 week pay period:  Full-Time / Day Shift / 75 hours per pay period

Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries is one of the premier employers in Pennsylvania and Maryland. We are a non-profit organization which includes Diakon Senior Living Services and Diakon Child, Family, and Community Ministries.

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing accountant activities of the statewide permanency contract, leads administrative fiscal activities and training, planning, organizing and directing all processes related to accounts payable and disbursements, and daily cash management.  
  • Assists in maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded.  
  • Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
  • Compiles financial data to aid Fiscal Manager in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.  
  • Assists in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expense.
  • Provides lead Accounts Payable functionality.
  • Childline clearance results are required prior to beginning employment.

     

Education/Training: An A.S. and 2+ years experience or B.S. degree in accounting, finance or related field of study preferred.

 

Experience: A minimum of two (2) year of experience in general accounting functions normally required.

 

ADA: Ability to bend, stoop, sit, reach and lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.; visual and auditory skills.
