The Credit Controller role is the first contact of the Finance Teams regarding Account Receivables Management. The role is responsible for ensuring customer reconciliation and cash collection leading to increase cash flow, reduce bad & old debt and mitigate risk related to non-collection.

It ensures proper operation of processes from incoming payment allocation to customer ledger maintenance, outstanding follow up and overdue management, including credit limit control and reporting. Service Delivery entails issue resolution and close business partnering with the customer service, finance and commercial market teams.

Also the purpose of the role is to enhance cash collection, minimize bad debt and improve debtor’s performance providing the market with high quality information and insights to develop business improvement on cash and account receivables management. Cash Collection Senior Analyst is a key player to drive efficiencies, delivering prompt and quality information to enable the business decision making and acting as a partner to other functional areas to support commercial decisions and audit controls.

Accountabilities

  • Provide financial and commercial teams with guidance and information about business risks and potential mitigation plans based on cash performance follow up.

  • Influencing the commercial and financial teams during the business decision making process based on cash collection risk analysis and debtor’s performance reviews per channel.

  • Lead improvement in execution insights to support the cash collection and accounts receivables management within the credit control team.

  • Coordinate the Credit Control KPI´s reporting and reconciliation processes. Ensure the completeness and the accuracy of the performance and forecasting reports.

  • Prepare debtors balance GL reconciliations.

  • Build and maintain high quality and effective internal control area. Deliver successful internal & external audits.

  • Reporting: ensure the adequate reporting cycle (Design, adjustment, maintenance, distribution)

  • Support team with performance and root cause analysis.

  • Improvement in execution. Support automation of existing and new reports where possible.

  • Review and Follow-up Commercial Charges. Aging /TIT. Continuously improve the Credit Control and Customer Spend process

  • Provide reports/inputs for Trade Terms Provision

  • Supervise Bank Interface

  • Proactive cash collection.

  • Handle customer queries and drive issue resolution (e.g. price, delivery issues).

  • Manage relationship with customers, with the market (business decision support, commercial managers, finance manager, Supply Team, Warehouse) and internally (e.g. Customer Service Team, Financial Controller Team, STP Team).

  • Manage credit risk (supervise payment behaviour of customers and propose credit limit changes).

  • Manage customer ledger (up-to-date information about overdue items) according to KPI’s (RC, texting, reconciliation).

  • Continuously improve processes to drive customer satisfaction and promote service efficiency.

  • Maintain customer and process documentation.

  • Generation of daily, weekly and monthly reports regarding debt collection and cash/overdue forecasting.
