Job purpose

Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is an IT technical liaison position with the business, oriented toward emerging needs. This role will driving digital transformation by digital technologies to create new or modify existing business processes, culture, and customer experiences to meet changing business and market requirements. The successful candidate will have significant knowledge pertaining to both IT and the business, be able to gather business requirements and convert them into projects or change requests focusing on value-add creation.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with Finance, Treasury, Audit, Tax and Master Data Management (MDM) business areas to be a strategic partner, understand business needs and direction, build out and maintain strategic portfolio roadmaps for each area, facilitate and drive annual and ongoing budget planning and management, hold Operations Reviews with each business area and IT partners with KPI metrics and roadmap planning.

  • Liaison for the Finance business tower across IT (i.e., architecture, infrastructure, software development, technology, or development partners) to identify the IT teams and areas to engage for projects, support needs and technology deliverables.

  • Main lead for business area with Finance and Tax Senior Directors and Vice Presidents.

  • Responsible for overall Corporation Applications budget management.

  • Lead other BRM’s in the team to drive consistencies, distribute workload, and designate relationship leads with the business

  • Business acumen – ability to interpret and understand business processes and technology needs and communicate in business terms at all levels.

  • Portfolio and product management experience with organizational, planning, and time management skills.

  • Strategy and strategic development with the ability to professionally influence others.

  • Adaptiveness, flexibility, learning agility.

  • Collaborative problem-solving skills with strong listening skills.

  • Ability to coordinate, collaborate and lead across a business portfolio with product roadmaps, release management dashboards, funding and appropriation request processes and tracking.

  • Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and conduct that conforms to BorgWarner’s values and culture.

  • Preferred if Agile development and OneStream experiences.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or a technology-compatible field or equivalent industry experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a business relationship management role or leading a technology-based business area, with Automotive experience a plus.

  • Financial business acumen across Corporate Finance, Consolidation, Planning, Treasury, Tax, and Audit.

  • Hands on experience managing budget forecasts and actuals.

  • A “people person” who can connect and communicate across all levels of leadership and build teams into high performing happy collaborators.
