As part of the AWS Analytics portfolio, Specialist Sellers will cover key topics like Data Strategy, Governance and Security, Data Streaming and Preparation, Data Lakes and Data Warehouses, Business Reporting and Visualization as well as the intersection to Machine Learning and GenAI capabilities.

Join the Specialists Team in Europe Central as a Sales Specialist for Analytics for Central Eastern Europe (CEE).

Role is based out of Athens, Greece with some flexibility within CEE; responsibilities will cover segments and regions within the AGS Specialists Team in Europe Central.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

As an Area Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for growing adoption, utilization, and revenue for AWS services in a sales region. Sales Specialists are technically savvy resources responsible for identifying opportunities to innovate with customers, influencing the AWS product roadmap, and driving revenue for your AWS service(s).

You will be the direct business owner for assigned segments and accounts to deliver exceptional customer outcomes. You will align and influence GTM strategies and sales plays together with the WWSO EMEA GTM team, and drive customer and partner engagements by participating in AWS field enablement activities.

You will also identify gaps in AWS products or feature sets based on customer insights and partner with internal product teams and account managers to win strategic customer workloads and drive business revenue.

About the team

The Specialists team positions AWS as the best place to run Analytics workloads. Our team helps customers become data-driven organizations and implement Analytics capabilities at scale.

The Specialist team works backwards from customers to build and execute go-to-market plans; it includes business development, specialist sales, and technical solutions architecture experts. As part of the Specialists team, you’ll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. We pride ourselves on thinking big, delivering exceptional results for our customers, and working across AWS as #OneTeam.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Basic Qualifications

  • Solid Consultative Sales and Business Development experience in Software-Technology environments with pipeline creation and revenue delivery responsibilities

  • Proven direct field experience working with customers and track record of building rapport with senior C-level stakeholders

  • Previous working domain experience in data / analytics technologies and experience working with cloud-based technologies

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a matrix organization (leveraging multiple functions and teams) and solid influencing skills to drive the business agenda in partnership with internal and external stakeholders

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills in English and at least one more language spoken in the Central and Eastern Europe area (preferably Greek, Polish, Romanian or Czech)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on/technical exposure to the e2e Data & Analytics technology stack, with solid understanding of the entire data lifecycle (collection, ingestion, processing/analysis, visualization, modelling etc) and impact on business

  • Certificates or diplomas related to Analytics or AI/ML

  • Knowledge of Big Data businesses and technical concepts

  • Familiarity with the Analytics solutions market, including solutions from commercial software vendors, Cloud hyperscalers and Open Source technologies

  • Experience of working with Technology Partners (Software Vendors, System Integrators) in the data & Analytics space
