BAE Systems Material Planning Coordinator (Production Scheduler) in Aiken, South Carolina

As a Material Planning Coordinator IV, you will prepare, issue, and control production schedules. Within this role, you will be responsible for coordinating material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. In addition, you will provide status updates to internal customers of work in progress, material availability, and potential production barriers.

You will also:

Cross train with the Scheduler Sr (Leader) and serve as a backup to that role. Establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates. Follow established process to maintain daily production schedules and readjust schedules according to production progress, change orders, or other delaying conditions. Coordinate with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects. Provide support to the material planning and control function. Prepare and monitor material requisitions and material schedules with production schedules. Maintain engineering specifications and production schedules and plans material movement within purchasing, warehouse and production. Create and generate reports on material plans and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Detailed Production Scheduling:

Create and maintain a detailed production schedule for the fab shop.

Determines, monitors, and reviews manpower requirements. Analyzes effects of contract change such as growth, new work, delays, disruptions and other project impacts. Formulates and recommends corrective action measures such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, and work requirements.

  1. Progress Monitoring and Reporting:Collect and incorporate weekly progress into production schedule.Monitor project progress.Analyze and report on the production schedule to internal and external stakeholders.Formulates and recommends corrective measures.

  2. Collaboration:Represent planning/scheduling in communications, meetings, and discussions with internal and external stakeholders.Work closely with operations, supply chain, contracts and finance teams.Prepares and coordinates the plans and schedules for new or existing programs.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • HS or GED with associate degree in a technical or business-related discipline or equivalent experience.

  • 4 years of relevant experience in Manufacturing/Production Operations, MRP, Materials Planning, Inventory Control and/or Supply Chain.

  • General administrative duties supporting, preparing and monitoring material schedules with production schedules.

  • Basic understanding of MRP fundamentals and ability to use metrics.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word and Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Associates, or bachelor s degree in a technical or business/supply chain related discipline

  • 4 years of Materials/Manufacturing experience in a fast-paced work environment.

  • 4 years Material Coordinating background.

  • 2 years of Material Planning Experience.

  • Experience in Defense, Aerospace, Combat Vehicle product development and/or manufacturing work environment.

  • Oracle Experience.

  • Lean Manufacturing Experience.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $57100 - $91400

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
